Track Leaders

Thank you for showing an interest in being a part of WIRED Ministries. We realize that there are numerous ministry events throughout the summer you could serve. Through WIRED, we are offering the unique opportunity to serve the people within our community and help disciple students from local churches in Bible study and servant leadership.

Every Ministry Track Leader (MTL) will have two critical roles to make sure WIRED is a success.  MTLs are responsible for teaching our Bible Study and leading a ministry site for the ministry track group you will be assigned to show during the entire week of WIRED.  This group of 10-20 students will be under your care daily from 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. There are several different ministry tracks for Wired. You will have the opportunity to choose which of these tracks you would like to lead.

Ministry Track Options:

  • Children’s Ministry – Kid’s Club
  • Children’s Ministry – Extreme Camp
  • Sports Camp – Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
  • Social Ministry – Nursing Homes, Rescue Mission, Food Bank, Pregnancy Center, Homeless Shelters
  • Painting, Construction, & Yardwork (PCY)
  • Evangelism – Creative ministry opportunities for sharing the Gospel.
  • Multicultural Ministry – Engage ESL groups and other cross-cultural communities.

Training Requirements

WIRED requires one weekend of extensive training for all our Ministry Track Leaders.  Our training dates for WIRED are June 7-8th. Everyone will train all day  from 9 A.M. – 9 P.M.

We will use this time to make sure every leader has been appropriately trained in the Bible study for the week, student management and disciplinary procedures, and site preparation.  Each staff member will receive a copy of the WIRED Bible Study before training.  Each staff member will expect to read this study, make notes regarding the survey, and prepare a teaching outline before the weekend of training.

We will also focus our attention on on-site preparation at all ministry track sites throughout the Wiregrass. Depending on which ministry track you are assigned to, you may be preparing one place or up to five different locations for the WIRED week.  A lot of the work in preparation will be done before this weekend of training, but it most definitely will be a packed couple of days.

Our final training will be a walk-through at the Civic Center on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Compensation Package for Staff Members

We hope that your decision to serve as a Ministry Track Leader at WIRED will not be determined entirely by pay. However, we believe in compensating our leaders for a tough week of work, as well as for the many hours of training and preparation beforehand. All Ministry Track Leaders will receive $500 for serving at WIRED. We consider this a fair, even somewhat generous amount for your work. Payment will be delivered at the end of camp in a check from Wired Ministries.

All meals will be provided for the Ministry Track Leaders at host churches and ministry sites. The housing arrangements for Ministry Track Leaders have not been confirmed, but we always have a few options for out-of-town leaders. You will work from 1:00 P.M. – 10:00 P.M. on Sunday and 7:00 A.M. – 10:00 P.M. Monday – Thursday, with a couple of additional hours on cleanup on Thursday night.

Background Check

WIRED Ministries will be performing a mandatory background check on all Ministry Track Leaders to ensure the safety of the participants attending WIRED. This service will be paid for by WIRED Ministries and only take a few minutes to complete online.  No-one associated with WIRED Ministries will have access to the information shared through this process and will only be notified of an applicant’s approval or denial.  There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Statement of Beliefs

The entire staff associated with WIRED will be working under the statement of beliefs as outlined within the Baptist Faith and Message.  Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this set of beliefs or desire to receive a copy of the Baptist Faith and Message.
